A New Class of Solid Electrolyte

Inorganic superionic conductors possess high ionic
conductivity and excellent thermal stability but their
poor interfacial compatibility with lithium metal electrodes
precludes application in all-solid-state lithium metal
batteries. In this study, we report a LaCl₃-based
lithium superionic conductor possessing excellent interfacial
compatibility with lithium metal electrodes.

Ruziniu Games

Our group (敲键盘队) won the championship in the Ruziniu
Games (孺子牛杯师生运动会) organized by School of
Chemistry and Materials Science, University of Science and
Technology of China in Apr 25, 2019. We enjoyed the fun
games and are pround of our teamwork.

Pacman Mechnism in Graphene Cutting

A "Pac-Man" mechanism is revealed for the metal-nanoparticle-catalyzed cutting of graphene by employing a multiscale simulation approach. Although the overall cutting rate is proportional to the surface area of the nanoparticle, the rate-limiting step of graphene cutting is actually at the graphene-metal interface. Such an apparent inconsistency turns out to be a result of the distinct etching behaviors at zigzag and armchair edge sites.
